How to Make Lemon Ginger Tea
INGREDIENTS
[Makes 1 Quart]
1/2 cup ginger, thinly sliced
3.2 cups water
3 Tbsp lemon juice, freshly squeezed
Optional - Honey
PROCEDURE
Place thinly sliced ginger and water in a medium-sized saucepan. (You can also grate the ginger if you want it to be stronger. If the ginger is organic then you don't necessarily need to peel it, but I usually scrape off a bit of the skin. If it’s not organic then go ahead and peel the ginger first.)
Bring the water to a boil. Boil for about 3-5 minutes, turn down heat, and let simmer for 5 more minutes.
Remove from heat, cover, and let steep until the liquid cools to a drinkable temperature.
Strain out the ginger.
Add lemon juice to the tea.
Add honey to taste - I love Manuka honey for all its amazing antibacterial properties.
Stir and enjoy! The brew can last in the fridge for up to a week.
