Top 5 Yoga and Movement Studios in Portland, Oregon

Here in Portland Oregon, we are blessed with abundance. An abundance of gourmet restaurants, organic vegetables, luscious forests, endless hiking trails, amazing teachers, and a variety of yoga and movement studios. All these options are amazing but it also can be a bit overwhelming too! I have been a dedicated yoga student, and workout freak for over 20 years and have done my part in exploring the many yoga and movement studios that Portland has to offer. Listed here are my top 5 favorite places to practice yoga and workout.
People’s yoga- This studio has a mission to help make yoga affordable to more people! Their mission states, “From the beginning has been to offer an inclusive, non-dogmatic, and welcoming environment where individuals from all walks of life and financial backgrounds can experience the healing benefits of yoga.” It offers great memberships as well as yoga scholarships. They have two studio spaces around town, so make sure you know where you are heading when you pick a class! They also offer top-notch yoga teacher training, great scholarships, workshops, and retreats.
Woo Woo- This studio has a wide variety of offerings, from yoga to sound healing. They host a lot of workshops and have a pretty eclectic schedule. A must-see!
Barre 3- Barre 3 is a workout class that incorporates ballet, Pilates, yoga, and strength training in a low-impact but highly effective workout class. They have studios all around the country but there are three amazing ones here in Portland as well, one in the Southeast, Northwest, and one in the Northeast. A membership here will get you into any of these studios, which each have multiple classes offered every day. Expect to sweat, shake, and have a good time, using low weights, a mat, the barre, and great music.
Modo- Modo is a great place if you are looking for yoga, with over 60 classes a week, they have a packed schedule and great instructors. They offer a range of classes with varying difficulties and a great prenatal program. Speaking of prenatal yoga…
Bhakti Yoga Movement Center- The Bhakti shop, located in SE Portland has a beautiful one-room studio and a very well-known prenatal series. With about 5 classes offered a day this studio should be able to fit right into your schedule.
